I am a third year PhD candidate in the Mathematics department at UC Berkeley. I am advised jointly by Bernd Sturmfels and Serkan Hoşten. My research interests are in applied algebraic geometry, specficially algebraic statistics and metric algebraic geometry. In my recent work, I have studied optimization problems on Grassmannians arising in applications from the perspective of algebraic geometry.
I received my B.S. from Harvey Mudd College with High Distinction and Honors in Mathematics. My undergraduate thesis was advised by Michael Orrison and is titled “Long Increasing Subsequences.”
I am grateful for the support of the UC Berkeley Chancellor’s Fellowship.
